Two game modes for double the game play

Williams like to create different kinds of slot machines, and this Frozen Inferno slot online or on mobile provides plenty of action and entertainment.

When you first open up this Frozen Inferno slot you will be greeted with a decision to make. It’s not a hard decision, but it’s one that provides you with two types of base game play.

Do you choose the blue wizard or the red wizard? The only one real difference between the two, apart from the colour of the symbols on the screen, is that of the bonus feature you get on every single spin – and eventually you get to play for the other side too.

Frozen Inferno wilds come sticky or roving

That’s the difference here. If you choose the blue wizard you get sticky frozen wilds, and if you choose the red wizard you get roving wilds (ie. wilds that move around the screen on each spin).

We personally prefer the roving wilds as it makes the game a little more random and exciting, but the frozen wilds provide equal wins.

We’ll go in to more detail in a moment about how you trigger the free spins, but let’s just say that the wilds are a major part of it.

Wizard slot theme and symbols

The graphics, sounds and animations are pretty good. These 5×4 reels and 40 paylines provide plenty of base game action, mainly thanks to those wilds. Each set of symbols for either the blue or red wizard are exactly the same, the only difference being their colour.

So what can you find here? Well you’ve got a moonlit castle, potions, orbs, skulls, staffs, rings, and what look like glowing ruin stones.

There’s no A – 9 symbols here, each symbol is beautifully created to fit within the overall slot theme.

One other thing to mention is that the symbols come partially stacked, and there’s fewer of them than you might find in other video slots providing you with a better chance of a win. That and the fact that the wizard symbol takes up 4 symbols in a reel and is the highest paying symbol next to the wild.

Unlimited free spins or are they?

This Frozen Inferno slot machine has a different take to how the free spins games are done.

First of all you’ll have to trigger them. This is done from the base game over an extended period. Every time an Ice symbol (if you chose the blue wizard) or a Fire symbol (if you chose the red wizard) shows up on the reels it will turn that symbol in to it’s respective wild.

When you get 4 of these wilds on screen, the next time the Ice or Fire symbol shows up you trigger the free spins bonus round.

Pretty simple so far.

Unlimited free spins until you have 5 wins

These don’t have to be in a row just five overall wins. On each free spin a new wild is added to the reels making it easier to get a winning combination.

If you started with the blue wizard, then on each win the reels from left to right will start to turn red with the wilds that show up on those reels turning to that respective wizard type.

It sounds more complicated than it is and once you’ve completed getting your 5 wins the free spins will finish and the reels will now have turned to the opposite wizard you chose first off.

This allows you to try out each of the wild types throughout your game play. If you only want one type you could always reopen the game and choose the wizard and wild type you prefer.

We’ve managed to get between 20x – 40x our total bet out of these free spins, which is a little disappointing for a medium to high variance machine, but the base game wins with the wilds can provide you some equally good top up.

Is the Frozen Inferno slot worth playing?

It’s a different type of game, with a constant bonus feature throughout your spins, which provides plenty of action packed fun.

A return to player rate of 96.36% keeps your casino balance ticking over nicely, but you will have to be careful with your budget as you could soon see it dwindle if those wilds don’t play ball and show up towards the far right of the reels.

A betting range of 0.40 up to 200 per spin makes this WMS casino game great for big betters, and those who like their high limit slots.

Perhaps the 0.40 minimum bet is a little steep then we would suggest the similarly unique Tower Quest slot from Play’n GO as an alternative.

With easy to reach free spins, and a unique take on how to experience all the game has to offer, this Frozen Inferno slot online is worth a spin or two.

And if you like you mobile slots then you can always try out the Frozen Inferno mobile slot at one of our recommended casinos.

Which wizard will you choose?
